Department of Anti-Discrimination

The department for Anti-Discrimination, short “Antidis” takes a stand against all forms of discrimination at our university and in society. For this purpose we organize various events and educational offerings. Through this we want to raise awareness, sensitize, criticize, and be a point of contact for people affected by discrimination.

If you would like to support us in any way or if you are affected by discrimination, please contact us via email. The information you provide is the basis of our work.

What is discrimination?

Discrimination occurs when someone is put at a disadvantage because of distinguishing characteristics like age, disease, disability, gender, sexual identity and orientation, ethnic or social background, and/or on the basis of religious belief. Discrimination is not about the intention or motive but rather the perception of the affected. Insulting, humiliating or intimidating a person based on the previously mentioned characteristics and thus creating a hostile environment is called harassment.

The right to equality before the law and protection against discrimination for all persons constitutes a universal right.
