Corona-Update: Prüfungen - exams

English version below

English version

Since Monday 08.06. you can register for the exams of the SuSe2020. Unfortunately mostly without knowing which exams take place, when and in which form. Many of your questions reach us and we try to help you as much as possible, unfortunately we don't have all the answers yet, but we are working on it ;) We have already achieved a lot and there are news! We have put together the most important points for you here:

deadlines: The deadlines for submissions are still suspended. As long as the university does not reopen on a regular basis, this rule will continue to apply. You can find this and a sample calculation on our Corona-Info page

online vs. presence: It is still the most important thing to protect you and all members of the university from the pandemic. That is why as many exams as possible should take place online, both written and oral. Lecturers also have the possibility to deviate from the given examination form (you can find this in your module descriptions). Ultimately, the decision is up to the teacher, so please contact your lecturer for more information!

No 2nd and 3rd attempts in SuSe2020: Also the cancellation of the attempt count remains. So you don't have to write second and third attempts this semester. Please do not be surprised if you receive letters about not passing, but contact us immidiatly. The system sends these letters automatically and sometimes it cannot be stopped.

"Freiversuche": Yesterday the senate passed a resolution on the non-accreditation of examinations. Unfortunately this resolution is much less precise than the one we had prepared and the student members in the senate had asked for. In order not to have an examination attempt credited, the following criteria must be met:

  1. the examination took place (or will have taken place^^) in SuSe2020
  2. the examination form OR the teaching form differs from that in the module description
  3. you file a request in the ZPA until 31.03.2021 and BEFORE the renewed application for the examination

Unfortunately, the different teaching and examination forms are not clearly defined. What we know: a digital exam is not an exam, an oral exam via video chat is not an oral exam! This means that all digital examination forms deviate from the given examination forms. So you get a free trial. In our opinion, even recorded lectures are not lectures and online seminars are not seminars. These also deviate from the given form. That means, even if your exam can be taken in presence, the online teaching guarantees you the free attempt. We are currently working on getting a clear and binding statement in the FAQ of the university.

We hope we could answer some of your questions and you are happy with us that we could achieve so much. If you have any questions, if something is unclear or if you have a concrete case - feel free to contact us at any time!
