Orientation Week

Here you will find all important information about the orientation week. The events are designed for all new students at the Faculty of Mathematics at Chemnitz University of Technology.

It is very important that you activate your URZ account via the service code, which you should have received with your (first-time) enrollment documents. Essential study tools such as OPAL, the SBService and setting up your e-mail account are controlled via the URZ account.

For participation in some events (barbecues, breakfasts and the hike with hot beverages), a one-off payment of a catering fee is required. This is €15 and will be collected at the welcome event. If you do not attend the welcome event, please let us know at the first event you attend.

Please bring your student ID with you and always dress appropriately for the weather conditions during the orientation week events! As the weather is difficult to predict in the fall, we cannot always react to sudden changes in the weather - even if there is a “bad weather version” of some events.

There is an OPAL course for refreshing A-level material. If you are interested in bridge courses in the natural sciences, please refer to the courses offered by the Institute of Physics.
